OST Firearms Instructor Course

Peter Hackett - Project Contract Lead / Lead Designer

Peter Hackett created this solution to a an existing program that was outsourced and sub-optimal.  He generated the problem and needs analysis, job task analysis, course design, instructional strategy, course content and evaluation methodology.

This was a 12 month project conducted in collaboration with many other offices and personnel located in various states.

Peter also used this project as his Capstone for completion of his Master's Degree.

The result was an 80-hour, federally accredited law enforcement "train-the-trainer" program.

Los Luceros Historical Site Training

Peter Hackett - Design Team Member

This online training was prepared as a requirement for course in Framing and Prototyping Designs for Learning during Peter Hackett's graduate program.

Peter Hackett was part of a team of three graduate students who developed this interactive, online 4 hour course for a New Mexico State Historical site.

Working together as a team with diverse backgrounds, Melissa, Michelle and Peter designed this course to provide new tour guides with the knowledge, skills and abilities to properly conduct educational tours of that site for a diverse group of visitors.

Advanced Instructor Development Course Proposal

Peter Hackett - Developer / Lead Designer

This proposal began as a project for Peter Hackett's graduate level course in Training Techniques.  Peter saw a need his organization and decided to develop a solution as part of his graduate study program.  He developed the course and conducted a mini-pilot with a target audience.

After its completion, he presented it to his company and their customer.  They were immediately interested.  There are tentative plans to begin design and development of this 40 hour course for the Department of Energy / NNSA / OST in the Spring of 2023.
