See opportunities, not obstacles

OUR PROFESSIONAL GOAL
Prepared Mind Designs seeks to provide effective training and mentoring solutions for performance problems in organizations of all types. We do this by developing the excellence present in every individual and challenging them to bring that excellence to the common endeavor.

Our core values are conscientiousness, diligence, mutual respect and open-mindedness. We value hard work, and dedication to a goal. We understand that everyone plays an important role - there is no such thing as an "unimportant task." We welcome new approaches to problems in both framing and resolution.

Our professional experience, development and education has given us the ability to determine when and how skills can be created, improved, adapted, modified and maintained to maximize efficiency and workplace satisfaction.

Louis Pastuer famously said, “Fortune favors the prepared mind.” Coming from a background of preparation for specialized, high risk, unconventional and mission critical operations, we understand the truth in this statement. Our goal is to help to recognize, develop, challenge, and unleash the potential of as many prepared minds as possible.

The prepared mind sees opportunities where others see only obstacles.

OUR PEOPLE
Peter Hackett - Founder / Lead Designer
Peter Hackett formed Prepared Mind Designs in 2022 in an effort to meet a need he saw in both the public and private sector: Training philosophies that create expert job performance, commitment to professional excellence and pride in work effort.
Peter became passionate about high quality instruction and instructional design during his 20 year career in law enforcement. He recognized early in that career that major deficiencies in performance could often be attributed to lack of quality training. He also saw how poor performance was tied to a lack of commitment to excellence or pride in work. This inevitably lead to low workplace morale. He carried these observations forward into a second career as an instructor and instructional designer and he believes that these observations apply to almost every human endeavor.

Raised in Indiana and educated in New England, Peter moved to New Mexico in 1993. He has been there ever since. When he isn't thinking about training, he enjoys strength training, white water rafting, motorcycle touring, archery, shooting sports, spending time with his granddaughter and working the land upon which he and his wife live. They currently raise two head of dog, two head of cat and are seriously thinking about a buying a used tractor.
